The course is designed to bring about an awareness of the importance of PPE and its different applications but also to understand that it is the last resort in terms of employee safety so if it fails the person will be injured. The course identifies the need for PPE and how to check it for worthiness and the standards required for internationally standardised PPE.

- Risk assessment linked to selection of suitable PPE.
- Types of PPE.
- Maintenance and storage requirements.
- Instruction and information on use of PPE by employees.
